The Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was designed and developed by our Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory and has started test flights. This indigenous design is a UAV with customization possibilities and can be used for various missions such as surveillance and package transportation, as well as a test vehicle for our other UAV projects, including the Acoustic Smart Highway Project. The UAV has been developed as open source and supports ROS integration, which encourages widespread adoption.
In the following stages, we aim for our UAV to have the ability to reach long flight times and autonomous charging capabilities with wiring power connection. With these studies, the performance and functionality of the UAV will be increased and it will be used more effectively.
