Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory was established in 2020 within TÜBİTAK BİLGEM to conduct research and development in the fields of artificial intelligence-based control and guidance algorithms, obstacle detection systems, operation of unmanned land and air vehicles, autonomous mobile robots and robotic arms and applications. R&D activities are mainly focused on projects announced by the Presidency of Defense Industries and Horizon Europe. The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory conducts research on systems with multiple degrees of freedom and mobility (Multi-DOF/DOM) to increase productivity both on production lines and in outdoor environments. Application areas range from smart factories to smart greenhouses, from mobile robot navigation to excavator operation. Relevant current research areas include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Cloud-based or edge path planning applications,

• Autonomous location-based navigation, surveillance and transportation operations of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs),

• Autonomization of smart construction operations involving trucks and excavators on construction sites,

• Central artificial intelligence coordinator software, including task planner/programmer and path planner, to perform collaborative Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) missions,

• Central coordinator software to manage high-level coordination of collaborative Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) missions supporting the Task and Traffic Management System (TTMS),

• Remote control and teleoperation applications of mobile robots and vehicles,

• Heterogeneous robot swarm management graphical user interface,

• Inverse kinematic operations of robotic manipulators and robotic arms and smart factory production line integration,

• Smart factories and digital twin applications,

• Testing and evaluation of commercial robotic products in simulation environment.
